I wake up craving chocolate


Confesson: most days I wake up craving chocolate.

My alarm goes off, and the first thing that pops into my head is where is the closest chocolate, and how can I get my little hands on it. Yes, this is a weird thought at 6 am and no,  I don’t usually give in my temptation.

I wonder where it is acceptable to eat chocolate at 6 am…I should probably move there.

Since I’ve <lostmysociallife> because of pinterest I thought I should at least share some of my beautiful finds. I’m jealous of people who can bake. Because I can’t. Actually, it’s not that I can’t bake, I can’t measure or read directions. I guess those skills are necessary to being a good baker. Who knew.

Hey that rhymes! I rock 🙂

I’ve seen this floating around the blog world… I love food so I knew I had to participate! The only reason I don’t have a food blog is because I eat to fast and by the time I remember to snap a picture of my meal, it’s already in my belly. Maybe someday I’ll have a food blog, but for now, here’s the closest you’ll get to scatterbrain food blog 🙂

A is for Apple, what’s your favorite variety?

Oh goodness, I have a slight obsession with apples. I actually used to hate apples…who am I?! Now, some days, I eat 2…3…7 a day ;). An apple (or 3) a day keeps a doctor away! My favorite are Jazz and braeburn apples. Yum, now I need an apple. I love peanut butter and apples but I actually don’t like the combo together. Something about the texture creeps me out!

B: is for Bread, regardless of nutrition, calories, or whole grains what is your favorite type to have a nice big piece of?

I love sourdough bread. I think I love that it takes…dare I say, sour? It’s good like reallllllll good.

C: is for Cereal what is your favorite kind currently (just one!) Currently

I don’t eat cereal. I just realized that. Maybe because I don’t buy it. I never even go down the cereal aisle, is that weird? IF I did/start to eat cereal I would/will buy Quaker Oats Squares. And then I would eat the whole box in one sitting 😉 oh yeah, that must be why I don’t buy it anymore. <—True story

D: is for Doughnuts, you might not currently be eating them but what kind do you fancy?

Yuck I hate donuts.

E: is for Eggs, how would you like yours prepared?

I only eat egg whites, unless it’s a hardboiled egg. This isn’t a “health” thing, it’s because every time I make eggs with the yolk I feel car sick. It’s weird, I know. Anyway, I like to eat egg whites with salsa on top. Nomnomnom.

F: is for Fat Free, what is your favorite fat free product?

Monster energy drinks…does that count? They are fat free and horrible for you like all fat free products. My B.

G: is for Groceries, where do you purchase yours at?

Trader Joe’s rocks my world. It’s like a little slice of heaven. Does anyone else love grocery shopping as much as I do? You know you’re a foodie when you’d rather go grocery shopping than shoe shopping. Wait, I just lied.

H: is for Hot Beverages, what is your favorite hot drink?

C O F F E E ! Need I say more? I really wanted to be a tea person, but it just didn’t happen.

Coffee- I love you and I will never cheat on you again with tea.

5 phases of Caffeine Intake…Read it, I dare you not to laugh.

I: is for Ice Cream, pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping.

O M G- I love ice cream…my hips don’t lie ;). No but seriously, I wish I could eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Technically, I can, this IS America. But I know better. My favorite favorite favorite ice cream is birthday cake remix from this little candy shop  called Knoke’s. It’s so good. I also enjoy mint chocolate chip, dairy queen cookie dough blizzard, strawberry ice cream (with the big chunks) and vanilla ice cream with a warm, hot brownie in it & don’t forget the sprinkles. Whoever invented ice cream, I thank you from the bottom of my big butt heart.

Side note: Does anyone else think that Ice Cream trucks are super creepy? I think they scream child abduction. The first time I heard a real ice cream truck coming down the road, I ran for my life. <—another, true story.

J: is for Jams or Jellies, do you eat them, and if so what kind and flavor?

What’s the different between jam, jellies, and preserves. (I just wrote marmalades?…Why??)

 The only jam/jelly/Mashed fruit mixed with a shit ton of sugar is my grandma’s homemade Jelly. Nana you rock and so does your homemade raspberry jam/jelly/whatever it’s called.

K: is for Kashi, name your favorite Kashi product?

I don’t eat Kashi stuff. Sorry Kashi.

L: is for Lunch, what was yours today?

Greek yogurt with strawberries and a big salad with lots of good stuff from my salad bar at work. It was delicious!

M: is for microwave, what is your favorite microwave meal/snack?

Black beans. Does that count? I love black beans, hot or cold. Unfortunately, they don’t love me back…

N: is for nutrients, do you likes carbs, fats, or proteins best?

I eat the most proteins because it tastes the best, treats my body the best, and I think it is one of the most important things in a healthy diet. Most people (especially woman) don’t consume enough protein or know how important it is for our bodies. I never knew the importance of it until about 1 year and a 1/2 ago.  I like carbs but I don’t believe that we need them and a lot are very unhealthy. I don’t like to eat a lot of them, my body doesn’t feel good after I “carb load”… so I just don’t. That’s just MY opinion. I also try to eat a lot of healthy fats because I know it is important and healthy for my brain and body! I mostly get all my carbs from fruits and veggies.

O: is for oil, what kind do you like to use?

Olive Oil for cooking. Baby oil for tanning J

P: is for protein, how do you get yours?

-Protein Shakes (arbonne)

-Nuts (almonds, peanuts)

-Cottage Cheese

-Chicken

-Greek Yogurt (plain)

-String Cheese

-PEANUT BUTTAAA!!!

Q: is for Quaker, how do you like your oats?

Mmm Oatmeal. Right now my favorite way to eat oatmeal is cold with Greek yogurt and fruit mixed it. If I eat oatmeal warm, I add peanut butter. Peanut butter… it melts in your hands oats.

R: is for roasting, what is your favorite thing to roast?

Brussels sprouts…duh.

There’s a kids book about Brussels Sprouts! How cute! 1.) I Need this book 2.) I want to write a kids book about vegetables!

S: is for sandwich, what’s your favorite kind?

Peanut butter and pickles! Go try it now, you won’t be sorry!

T: is for travel, how do you handle eating while traveling?

I eat what I feel like eating. I’m on vacay…there are no rules 😉

U: is for unique, what is one of your weirdest food combos?

All I eat is really weird food combos. This is why I’m not a food blogger because you guys would think I’m so odd if you say what I ate! 😉 For instance, I added a ½ jar of sauerkraut to my salad tonight. I’m obsessed. Give me the weirdest food combo and I can bet that I’ve tried it/obsessed with it.

V: is for vitamins, what kind do you take?

-Calcium

I don’t. My boyfriends mom used to grill it on the steak, that’s my favorite way to eat it now. I guess I don’t eat a lot of zucchini.

Green Monster


Today I made something I haven’t made in to long- presenting the green monster! Nom Nom Nom!

It’s good I promise! What’s in this green monster you ask?
  • Vanilla Protein
  • 1/2 banana
  • Vanilla almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • Ice/water
Ta-da! A green monster :)! I usually put berries in my green monster, but bananas were the only fruit that was around, and it was a good substitute to try. Any other lovers of green monsters?! Off to get some work done!
